School of Education Test Preparation Workshops

Please note that we are unable to offer refunds for workshops, though we will be happy to reschedule you if you are unable to attend.

Workshops

These workshops will prepare students for the CST examinations. We currently offer the CST workshop on Early Childhood Math Exam (246), the Childhood Math exam (222), ESOL (116) and on Students with Disabilities (060).
The 6-hour Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) workshop fulfills the necessary requirement for anyone seeking a certification.
The session consists of a review of some of the test preparation materials presented on the New York State Teacher Certification Exam (NYSTCE) website. We will review the test-specific Design and Frameworks and the Study Guide to optimize your study time. In addition, the course offers test-taking strategies to help analyze both the selected-response questions and the constructed-response requirements to ensure that the task is addressed in its entirety.
All applicants for certification must complete two clock hours of coursework or training in the identification and reporting of suspected child abuse and maltreatment.
All applicants for a certificate on or after February 2, 2001, must complete two clock hours of coursework or training in school violence prevention and intervention.
This workshop will prepare participants for the newest version of the New York State School Building Leaders exam. Helpful information about test content and format, practice questions, and test taking strategies will be explored in an interactive workshop. Both parts of the examination and each type of prompt (selected response and extended performance tasks) will be included. Students should plan to attend both sessions.
Teachers participating in a professional development workshop at The Moth in NYC should select this option to submit payment to process their forms for CTLE units.
